Ack! Has it really been since June since I last posted? Bad blogger, bad! My excuse, I guess, is that I'm pregnant and scatterbrained these days. At least I've been working on new projects, even if I can't manage to post about them. I'm mostly working in glass these days, but do have a few new jewelry pieces as well. Come on out to the Farmers Market in Holly Springs to see it all or request your own custom design. For example, I've had the kiln running each day since last Friday. I've fused then slumped two plates using a new slumping mold. I've also made three batches of pendants, some just with art glass, some with dichroic slide paper, and today's batch is all dichroic glass. I'm experimenting more with my designs for the pendants, whether using art glass, trying frit and stringers to create floral motifs, or randomly stacking dichroic glass strips and chunks into off-beat woven patterns or shapes similar to totem poles. The next few posts will include pics of what I've been working on. I figure I should spread it out so that it won't be an overly long blog entry. First, here's one of the new jewelry pieces I've made. It's a rose quartz and clear quartz necklace, with sterling silver accents. Next, hmmm, I think I'll show off a blue bowl set I made and am particularly proud of -- especially with the round bowl design. I like the fused mosaic look and the white glass stringers I used came out pretty neat (in my opinion, anyway).
That's all for today. I'll post more soon. :-)
